Notification Settings

Control which email and push notifications you receive and when.

Accessing Notification Settings

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications
  2. Toggle the notifications you want to receive
  3. Changes are saved automatically

Push Notifications

PostRite supports browser push notifications so you can get instant alerts even when you're not actively using the app. Push notifications work on desktop browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) and Android devices.

Enabling Push Notifications

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications
  2. Click Enable in the Push Notifications section
  3. When prompted by your browser, click Allow

Push notifications are per-device. If you use PostRite on multiple devices or browsers, enable push notifications on each one separately. Each subscribed device will appear in your device list.

Managing Devices

The Push Notifications card shows all your subscribed devices. For each device you can see:

  • The browser and operating system (e.g., "Chrome on macOS")
  • A Current badge on the device you're using right now
  • When the device was added

To remove a device, click the trash icon next to it. You can remove any device from any browser — for example, remove your work laptop subscription from your phone.

iOS Support

Push notifications on iPhone and iPad require iOS/iPadOS 16.4 or later, and PostRite must be installed as a PWA (Progressive Web App):

  1. Open PostRite in Safari
  2. Tap the Share button (square with arrow)
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen
  4. Open PostRite from your home screen
  5. Go to Settings → Notifications and enable push

Push notifications are not supported in regular Safari tabs on iOS — only when installed as a PWA. Other iOS browsers (Chrome, Firefox) do not support push notifications on iOS.

If Notifications Are Blocked

If you previously denied notification permission, you'll need to update your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Click the lock icon in the address bar → Site settings → Notifications → Allow
  • Firefox: Click the lock icon → More Information → Permissions → Notifications → Allow
  • Edge: Click the lock icon → Permissions → Notifications → Allow
  • Safari (macOS): Safari → Settings → Websites → Notifications → Allow

What Triggers Push Notifications

When enabled, you'll receive push notifications for the same events as email notifications:

  • Post published successfully
  • Post failed to publish
  • Post partially published (some platforms failed)
  • Approval requests approved or rejected

Per-Organization Preferences

If you belong to multiple organizations, you can control which ones send you notifications. Go to Settings → Notifications and look for the Organization Notifications card (visible when you have two or more organizations).

For each organization you can independently toggle:

  • Email — receive email notifications from this organization
  • Push — receive push notifications from this organization

Disabling notifications for a specific organization does not affect your global notification preferences or other organizations.

Email Notifications

PostRite offers fine-grained control over email notifications. You can enable or disable each type independently:

Post Published

Receive an email whenever a scheduled post is successfully published to all selected platforms. Includes links to the published posts.

Post Failed

Get notified if a post fails to publish to any platform. The email includes error details and steps to troubleshoot. We recommend keeping this enabled.

Platform Disconnected

Receive an alert when a connected social account loses its authorization (e.g., due to a token expiration or revoked access). This helps you reconnect before your next scheduled post.

Quiet Hours

Set quiet hours to prevent notifications from being sent during specific times (e.g., overnight). Notifications triggered during quiet hours will be held and delivered when quiet hours end.

Digest Frequency

Instead of receiving individual notifications, you can opt for a digest summary. Choose how often you want to receive digest emails:

  • Weekly — One summary email per week
  • Monthly — One summary email per month
