WhatsApp Business
Connect WhatsApp Business API to schedule and send messages to your contacts.
A WhatsApp Business number is required
The regular WhatsApp app cannot be connected to third-party tools. PostRite uses the WhatsApp Business Platform — you can pick a business number you already have, or create one inside Meta's window while connecting.
Requirements
- A Meta business account
- A phone number that is not already in use by the regular WhatsApp app
- A payment method on your WhatsApp Business account — Meta bills you for conversations
- Approved message templates (for sending outside the 24-hour window)
Connecting Your Account
- Go to the Platforms page in PostRite
- Click Connect on the WhatsApp card
- Meta's window opens: sign in and choose — or create — your business number
- Confirm the permissions PostRite needs, and the number appears connected
Who pays for messages
Meta charges for WhatsApp conversations, and it charges you directly: the payment method lives on your own WhatsApp Business account. PostRite does not resell messaging and does not add a margin — your PostRite plan covers scheduling, the inbox and the automations, never the conversations themselves.

Creating Message Templates
- Go to Meta Business Suite
- Navigate to WhatsApp Manager → Message Templates
- Click Create Template
- Choose template category and language
- Write your template content with variables
- Submit for approval (usually takes 24-48 hours)
Best Practices
- Get consent: Only message people who have opted in
- Use templates wisely: Keep templates relevant and valuable
- Respond quickly: Utilize the 24-hour session window
- Personalize: Use variables in templates for personalization
- Quality over quantity: Too many messages can lead to blocks
Troubleshooting
Can't send messages
When a message fails, PostRite shows the specific reason on the failed post (e.g. recipient not opted in / 24-hour window closed, access token expired, or invalid recipient number). Common causes:
- Verify your WhatsApp Business API is properly set up
- Check if you're within the 24-hour messaging window
- Ensure template is approved if sending outside session window
- Verify recipient has opted in to receive messages
- Connection expired: the access Meta issued for your number can expire or be revoked — reconnect WhatsApp from the Platforms page to renew it
Template rejected
- Review WhatsApp's template guidelines
- Ensure content doesn't violate policies
- Make variables clear and necessary
- Avoid promotional language in utility templates
Account quality issues
WhatsApp monitors message quality. High block/report rates can restrict your account. Maintain quality by:
- Only messaging opted-in contacts
- Sending relevant, valuable content
- Respecting frequency preferences
- Making opt-out easy
